A connector can move records. It can't decide what's worth keeping.
Contacts and audiences
Mailchimp treats each audience as a separate list, so the same email can exist in several audiences with different data. HubSpot keeps one record per email, so those duplicates merge, and you lose track of which audience someone came from unless you capture it in a property or list first.
No company data
Mailchimp has no company object, so contacts arrive without company associations. These have to be built afterward, for example by matching email domains. Alternatively, a feature Create and associate companies based on Contacts email domain in HubSpot needs to be enabled in advance.
Marketing contact costs
HubSpot bills by marketing contacts, so importing everyone as a marketing contact can inflate costs. MigrateMyCRM creates contacts as non-marketing, so you can decide later on who is a marketing contact and who is non-marketing and bulk update them.
Tags, segments and groups
Mailchimp tags and interest groups have no direct equivalent in HubSpot. They usually become custom properties (multi-select or text). Based on these custom properties, you can create segments to manipulate your data further.
Engagement history
Past sends, opens, click can't be recreated as native HubSpot email events, although they play a key role in the lead scoring and enrollment future automations. MigrateMyCRM can bring them in as notes or custom events.
Subscription statuses mapping
Mailchimp's subscribed, unsubscribed, cleaned, and non-subscribed (transactional) statuses don't map one-to-one to HubSpot's marketing status and opt-out settings. Mishandling this can re-subscribe people who opted out, which is a legal and reputational risk under GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and CASL.
